My 10 month old son swallowed a 1cm piece of fork tine. no choking, no respiratory issues, just concerned with obstruction/perforation. should i be?

What is happening ?: I assume you mean part of a plastic fork, as a metallic one would not fragment. If the kid is not choking and can drink fluids okay, the tine made it into the stomach and is unlikely to cause a problem. I feed these kids stewed okra,because it adheres to the foreign object and helps it travel through the gut without causing problems. It will pass within 3-4 days.
