A member asked:

Can you have or get such a thing as bad gut..have had tests for reacurring sickness nothing has shown apart from small hietal hernia .told have badgut?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Poppycock: Badgut is not a diagnosis. Your providers have not yet figured out what is going on. Less common causes of GI symptoms include but are not limited to food intolerances, vascular disease and other uncommon problems. One can be intolerant to gluten, without meeting the criteria for celiac disease. Suggest you first see a gastroenterologist. If no help seek a respected integrative FP or internist.
