Slip and Slide.: It is generally thought that one cannot increase the amount of joint fluid in a healthy individual. Taking glucosamine (glucosamine sulfate)is thought to stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid, though. Hyaluronic acid is thought to be responsible for the lubricating properties of synovial fluid. It seem that about all you can do is increase the quality of the joint fluid, not the quantity.
