Less likely: Fluid can be due to an infection but otherwise healthy individuals don't typically develop a septic joint. More common causes include arthritis, inflammation, etc.

Fluid: Fluid in the ankle could mean many different things, infection, gout, arthritis, etc. Italy be prudent to have your ankle checked out and possibly have the fluid collected through a needle to send out for specimen. I hope this helps!

Fluid: All joints have some fluid in them but if painful it could be due to a number of things. Infection is possible but without a portal of entry it's more likely from arthritis . Get aspiration have it tested.
