Doesn't happen: With today's sterilizing techniques you don't have to be concerned.

Universal Precaution: All dental offices follow a protocol called "Universal Precautions"... simply put, assume everyone is infected with something. To that end, masks, gloves, and other barriers are used, and all instruments are steam sterilized. In this way cross contamination is eliminated.
