We all experience: occasional palpitations which in general are not a health concern. If your EKG and examination are normal you most likely have nothing to worry about. You could ask your doctor to provide you with a 30 day monitor to see what is actually causing your symptoms. This might be reassuring for you when you diagnose a benign issue or important for your health if something is discovered.

Palpitations: These are caused by many things. Stress, excitement, irritants both physical and chemical, pressure like a hiatal hernia or esophageal push or pull, and primary heart things, the causes are very many in number. Most often they are meaningless but they can sometimes be caused by signficant pathology.
