A member asked:

What is your opinion of a complete synovectomy for a 17 year old to relieve pain and swelling following a partial menisectomy 9 months ago?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Knee pain: Is there a diagnosis for the persistent knee pain and swelling post-op? Undergoing a complete synovectomy to relieve pain/swelling without an underlying diagnosis to support such a procedure will not likely work. This procedure is typically done for major inflammatory conditions of the knee and is not a typical treatment for pain after menisectomy
