Reasonable choices: the agents that you mention are quite standard for endoscopy. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl), commonly used for allergies or sleep, when used properly can have additive effects in keeping moderate sedation for endoscopy. None of these agents are full anesthesia, thus commonly people recall waking up, but dose and experience can vary greatly not only with person, but from session to session
