Saw opthalmologist last week. forgot to say that i have occasional flashes of light in periphery of eyes. would he have seen retinal issues?

Depends : If you just saw him for a glaucoma checkup, then he probably would not have seen any peripheral retinal issues. So call him & indicate your symptoms to him. If he did not perform a dilated eye exam at your last visit, then you will need one now to rule out any retinal tears.
