Metacarpal fracture: Removing pins for a metacarpal fracture after 3 weeks may not be unreasonable, depending on the nature of the fracture. Typically pins are removed after 4-6 weeks. Let your surgeon know about your concerns. Keeping your pins in for another 7-10 days might make you more at ease and is unlikely to lead to any major problems

Varies: It usually takes 6-12 weeks for the fracture to heal, but the fracture can start to heal before that and the fracture then becomes less likely to displace. I would discuss directly with your surgeon, he might be real encouraged how your films look, or he might have miscalculated your time from your surgery as well.
