IVC filter? I don't: know if ur mom is prone to falling & brain bleeds; if so, anticoagulants (blood thinners) r not a good idea - it increases the risk of a fatal brain bleed shd she fall again in the future. A better option may be an IVC filter (Greenfield filter) which will trap DVTs & keep it from getting to the lungs; however it tends to cause swelling in the legs (side effect may be wrse than cure). TTYD 4 advic
