It's possible: The sudden movements that you described could displace one or both of the tmj discs. You would definitely know if that happened because the affected joint would bind up and more than likely hurt. If the disc does not get recaptured into position then your bite will likely be off and your ability to open all the way would be hindered. If you did not experience any of the above then you fine.

Probably not: If you have a healthy TMJ this should not cause a problem. For people with TMJ problems any sudden opening or side to side movements can dislocate their jaw. You may hear a popping sound and then not be able to close your mouth.
