35% or less: You should modify the diet to make it both low carb and low glycemic index you can look up glycemic index of foods and construct your diet in that realm.

"Carbs": This depends on the type of carbohydrates you mean. You need certain types for healthy body functioning. Vegetables & fruits are carbohydrates -- just as grains, potatoes, breads, and sweets are. However, sweets are full of sugars that raise your blood glucose too rapidly. Avoid those -- they'll make you store fat. Can eat high fiber veggies & fruits, beans, lentils, quinoa, brown rice, etc.
