Torn meniscus: Michelle: Meniscal injuries symptoms are often located in the knee joint itself - locking/ giving way, pain when walking, warmth of the joint and so on. You say, the whole leg is in severe pain. You must see your orthopedic physician who can examine your knee and leg. You may require xrays and/or MR exam of the knee or other areas of your leg.
