Bilirubin: Bilirubin is the by product of old blood cells dying and being managed by your liver to expel the wast product. The bilirubin levels can indicate a liver disease or a liver complication. An elevated bilirubin level can be seen in newborns and be the cause of jaundice. It is the cause of adult jaundice when the liver is failing.
