Why is it important to know if i have endometriosis?

It is not: Many women have retrograde menstruation resulting in pelvic endometriosis. However, if you have symptoms (which not every woman will have) including severe menstrual cramps- painful intercourse-infertility....Then you should consider having this diagnosis made.

Problems: Endometriosis is important in women's health for 2 main reasons: infertility and pelvic pain. If you have either of these then diagnosing and treating endometriosis could be an important part of the solution. If you have neither one of these issues, it not absolutely necessary to rule out endometriosis.
