A member asked:

Can endoscopy be used on a virgin to remove a cyst in the ovaries? will it affect her in the future? and does it have any effects on the hymen?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Entry Point: I would ask your MD which approach he is planning on using - vaginal or abdominal. Express your concerns about damage to the hymen. Abdominal approach is a small incision through the skin of your stomach to allow the tubing to enter inside you and look at your ovary. This allows the MD to perform surgery using a small incision. This route would not affect your hymen.
