A type of porcelain.: There are a few different types of porcelain we use in dentistry. One of them can be used to make a very thin veneer that doesn't require much, if any, tooth reduction. Dura thin is a brand of that type of veneer. They can last a long time if done properly and you take care of them. Cost varies depending where you live. $700-$1500 or more, per tooth.

Thin veneeers: There are many companies marketing thin veneers. Durathin is one of them. Dental ceramists have been making thin veneers for decades. Don't get caught up in the brand names. Ask your dentist what's best for your individual case.

A Brand name: Durathin is a brand of ultra thin veneers. They don't work for every situation, but if they are an option for you, they are very strong as they are bonded to the strongest part of your tooth - enamel. They require much more expertise and training on the part of your dentist, and you can expect them to be $2500 -$3000 per tooth for that procedure. However, they require very little tooth removal.

Durathin Veneers: Durathin veneers are very thin (thinner than a contact lens) that are designed to fit over a patients' teeth with minimal to no prepping of the tooth underneath. Done properly, they should not have a life span. Check with the cosmetic dentist in your area but Durathin veneers can have a range of costs depending upon the geographic area. Typically they are a bit more than a standard crown per ea
