Complex answer: If you are trying to make your teeth longer for esthetic purposes, there is much more that has to be considered than just the veneers. Your bite, grinding habits, and condition of the dentition all play a role in the treatment plan. Your treating dentist is best prepared to answer your questions since he can actually see you.

Lengthening teeth: There are a couple of alternatives. One option would be resin bonding, which is quick and economical, but it’s not as durable as porcelain. Another possibility is dental crowns, which cover every surface of the tooth. They can protect and restore damaged, worn down, weak, or broken teeth. If your teeth are strong and healthy, you might want to rethink veneers, as they are a great solution.

May be a gum issue: Your teeth may appear short due to too much gum tissue if not due to wear, trauma, etc. Crown lengthening can be done with a laser and the postoperative pain is usually less than traditional techniques. Here's some info.. http://www.laserdentistbaltimore.com/crown-lengthening/

Yes: yes, bonding with composite, orthodontic extrusion/rotation outward or a combo of both. Now I am not advising this for most patients but the case needs to be worked up to look at the best and most conservative option to help accomplish your concerns.
