I : I agree with dr. Mcleod. My fees for crowns and veneers are about the same. To answer your question about molars, they are the teeth that do the grinding and they get alot of wear and tear. I've done modified veneers on molars, which are called 'onlays". They cover the outside and the biting surface of the tooth. Strong, esthetic, and very conservative in amount of tooth structure removed. Hope this info helps.

In : In my practice, crowns and veneers are identical in price. I charge exactly the same if it is a crown on a natural tooth, implant, or a porcelain laminate veneer. This is the only way to guarantee that the restoration is dictated by what the person needs and not money. I cannot possibly answer for other dentist, and their rationale. Best wishes, dr. Zev kaufman.

Are : Are veneers more expensive that crowns? Are either expensive? We charge about the same price for both. It take three or four years at undergraduate school, four to five years of dental school and probably two more years of residency to prepare a dentist for practice, so nine or ten years. The cost is enormous, and then the dentist goes into practice. We learn to give our patients their teeth and their smiles back, and we help them to reduce the chance of having heart disease. Dentistry is a service of inestimable value, and making front teeth look beautiful is what we do. Your dentist focuses all his experience on making your smile look beautiful. There is an art to making veneers and crowns look natural what ever the fee is you should make sure you know how much and have agreed to the fees before you start work. Our veneers and crowns are the same price! i hope that helps to put things in perspective. Dr neil mcleod dds dentistry that lasts - quality that counts.

See answer: If you are doing veneers strictly for cosmetic reasons, they are almost always more expensive - this is because it takes a highly trained artist to create them, and a highly trained dentist to understand what you want. You will pay for the creative artistry for that procedure. Crowns on back teeth are rarely as important to people as their front teeth, so lab costs are lower.
