See your dentist: Pain medications may temporarily mask the pain but the cause needs to be determined and treated. It may or may not be related to your teeth, but a dental evaluation is a good start.

Grinding?: You may be grinding your teeth, in which case you should get a nightguard. Nightguards are available over-the-counter, but it would be best to get an evaluation by a dentist first and get a custom made one if indicated.

Diagnosis: Pain killers may take the edge off, but underlying problem may continue to advance. Better to see your Dentist to evaluate for diseased or fractured teeth, diseased gums, fractures or abfractures, systemic disease, reaction to meds, allergies, traumatic occlusion, viral, bacterial, or fungal infection, etc. Have to know what it is to choose correct treatment.
