Pain: Some discomfort is normal after many fillings and keeping your mouth open for a long time. This can usually be relieved with OTC medications like ibuprophen or Tylenol (acetaminophen). If you have severe pain or your bite feels off then call your dentist and report this. This will help you.

NSAIDs and Time: Benzocaine can cause irritation to sensitive gums. Take Advil or Aleve (naproxen) for pain and avoid acidic foods and spices. Your gums will feel better in a few days.
