Cause/effect? : May be not related. Most babies have loose stools on breast milk and stool consistency (more solid) and smell may change with certain formulas. Breast milk is always better for your baby but if you need or choose to use a formula and the baby looks happy and is healthy, you may do so. Most regular formulas nowadays are very similar.
