Stabile - not tight.: Before they had air boots, ace bandages were the standard. I suggest you put a cotton padding on the foot before the ace wrap. We call it cast padding and the name of the dressing is Jones Dressing. When you can, get back to wherever you got the boot and get a larger one or better yet try for a cam walker.

Probably not: Presumably your doctor had ace wraps in his office but chose the air cast due to your injury. So, if it is too small it would be safer to just go back to the office to get a better fitting one than to just deviate from his treatment without discussing it with him.
