Injury unlikely: I have seen bruising on the upper arm due to blood pressure cuff getting too tight. This is usually only a problem with automatic cuffs. Pain in the wrist could result from a cuff becoming too tight resulting in pressure on a nerve that runs down to the wrist. This should resolve shortly without causing damage. Ensure that your blood pressure cuff is proper size to ensure accurate results.

Mild contusion: You can hurt yourself about the same as if someone put their hand around your wrist and squeezed it tightly. It might cause mild temporary discomfort but should not cause any longterm problems. I advise you apply a cream with homeopathic Arnica or take Arnica 12c, 2 pellets under tongue 3x/day, available at health food stores, as this helps us heal from bruises and contusions more quickly.
