It is one of the man: Methadone has some pain relieving properties but it is not widely used. So you can give it a try for one week and check it out. It may suit her and may prove to be a good option. Otherwise ask the doctor to change it to a more popular pain medicine.

Pain management: doctor is specialist in this field. If this doctor recommended Methadone, your mom should proceed. If you have any question about treatment, you should get a second opinion from another pain management specialist.
