Good Question: The national sleep foundation states there is no "magic number" when it comes to knowing the minimum sleep required in a day. Not only do individual age groups have different needs for sleep, but so do individuals. Each of us has a "basal sleep need", the amount of sleep our bodies needs for optimal performance. 7 to 9 hours is reported in two studies. See www.Sleepfoudation.Org for more info.
