Maybe: Strep verified by testing ? If so, Amoxicillin is an effective treatment when given in proper amounts. The response varies with the patient and co-factors. Kids can have a throat infection virus and carry strep at the same time. This slows improvement.Time delay before treatment also means there will be a slower response. The lack of fever is a good sign.I'd call your docs office for guidance
