Repeat test: All laboratory results need to be interpreted in the clinical context and the doctor who ordered the tests is usually in the best position to do that. Having said that, the two results are not in keeping withe each other and it would be prudent to repeat the tests to ensure that the results are correct.

Hypothyroid, Rx ASAP: While hypothyroidism is associated with a high TSH, some feel a TSH above 2.5 in 1st trimester indicates hypothyroidism. Ultimately, if your free T4 is low you need to take thyroid. Ask your doc to check free T3 too. Hypothyroidism increases risk of miscarriage and problems with your baby but you can correct this.
