A member asked:

How much does the canine tooth affect speech? my left canine is pretty crooked inward. but my speech therapist says i speak perfectly?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Listen: Listen to your speech therapist. He/she's the expert. But also have your occlusion examined by a fully qualified Orthodontic Specialist. If your canine is out of position you may have a narrow upper jaw which affects speech, or occlusion problems that can lead to tooth, bone, jaw joint problems. Initial examinations iat most Orthodontist's offices are complimentary.
