A member asked:

Very swollen and painful knees due to osteoarthritis.2 days ago blood test show(7.6) uric acid. is this related?because cannot find other cause for it

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes..gout: High levels of uric acid (above 7.5mg/dl) may cause gouty arthritis. Reduce cosumption of foods rich in "purines", the source of uric acid, such as red meats, shrimps, muscles and others. But check first with your dr to understand the cause of your arthritis
