Is taking celebrex (celecoxib) 200mg every day harmful to the heart or blood pressure? i have severe osteoarthritis in the knees that the pills really help.

Possibly: Celebrex (celecoxib) can raise bp by causing sodium retention in the kidney and increase chance of heart attacks by increasing platelet reactivity. If one has risk factors for heart disease then taking celebrex (celecoxib) should be with great caution. Advise a thorough cardiac evaluation.
