Depression + ADHD: ADHD meds, particularly stimulants, can worsen depression. Therefore, yes you may may not be responding to ADHD meds because of depression that's not been treated or even exacerbated by your meds. Discuss with prescribing doctor. Treatment options may be to add antidepressant, temporarily lower dose of ADD med and see a mental health therapist for coping skills. Best wishes.

ADHD, Depression: Hello Elk. I recommend a visit with the doctor who prescribes your ADHD medication to assess your dosage and depression. You may need an adjustment in your dosage but depression also can cause difficulty with focus and completing tasks and it may be the depression that needs to be addressed. A visit can help determining the most appropriate treatment path. Best wishes.
