ER: If it is a lot of swelling on your cheek you need to go to the ER right now with abscess spreads into your throat I could be dangerous

Both: If you go to the ER now you may be able to get on antibiotics to help bring down (not eliminate) the infection. The next thing you should do is make an appt. to see your dentist so that you can have this issue addressed and resolved.

See a dentist ASAP: The infected tooth can be fatal. A tooth abscess won't go away without treatment and the infection may spread to your jaw, cheeks, sinus, brain and to other areas of your head and neck. Dentist will treat a tooth abscess by treating the cause and getting rid of the infection. See your dentist ASAP.

Seek immediate care: Better by a dentist, but the ER if you cannot get an appointment today.
