A CT scan revealed a spiculated mass 1 CM across in my dad s lung he recently had the flu with a bad cough he also smoked for 50 years and quit 2 years ago the doctor wants to wait 3 months and do another CT to see if it s still there if so he will biopsy

History of asthma/smoker. Shortness of breath. Doc ordered Ct scan of chest. Scan showed some scarring and a spot 2.7 cm which radiologist said was likely scar but ?. must decide to wait and watch or biopsy. What to do? Insurance runs out in 2 wks.
2 nodules found in my lungs. 7 and 8mm. smoker for 35 years. Why wait 3 months to see if they grow for 2nd CT scan as opposed to doing biopsy now?
Found 3cm mass in left lung, ct confirmed. pet ct showed 2 spots in pleura that light up but mass in lung did not. RATS to biopsy 2 spots scheduled but not for the mass. Is this standard procedure?
