Found 3cm mass in left lung, ct confirmed. pet ct showed 2 spots in pleura that light up but mass in lung did not. rats to biopsy 2 spots scheduled but not for the mass. is this standard procedure?

The first step to see if there is malignancy or not would be to biopsy the lesions that light up in the PET scan. Hopefully, getting these lesions biopsies will be enough to determine the diagnosis so you can begin the proper treatment. If these biopsies do not determine the diagnosis, it may be necessary to biopsy or remove the 3cm mass. Best of luck-hoping everything is benign!
