No!: I am not aware of this being used for this purpose. Cipro (ciprofloxacin) 500 mg can have serious side effects in an occasional patient: rupture of the Achilles Tendon is possible as is C.diff enterocolitis, which can be very serious. When you need Cipro (ciprofloxacin) for an infection the risk/reward ratio favors taking it. But if not being used for a serious infection it's all risk and no reward.
