A member asked:

What does it mean when your back cracks often? i don't get as much exercise as i used to &it seems like my back is stiff & cracks more. migraines also

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Usually not to worry: Back and joint "cracking" is quite common. It occurs in teenagers up to the elderly. It can represent fluid shifting in and around the joints, soft tissues moving over other soft tissues or bony prominences. Unless accompanied by pain, it is rarely anything to worry about. I doubt that the migraines are related to the back noises.
