? Dislocation: See an orthopedic surgeon if you have an infant with a dislocated hip. They often need to be in special braces and potentially surgery. Double diapering is not reliable for hip dislocation. All the best.

Maybe: Some newborns will have a hip that can be slipped out of its proper position in its socket during a first exam. Double diapering pushes the legs outward where the it is easier for it to remain in place. If it tightens up in the 1st day and no longer slips out, it just needs close monitoring. If it remains loose. it needs special bracing by whoever does that in your country.
