Not likely: Without knowing the etiology of the mitral regurgitation it is difficult to accurately answer your question however in general mitral regurgitation does not improve over time. It is either stable without change or gets worse. There are medications that will decrease the amount of regurgitation but not cure it. Follow routinely with your health care provider and I am certain you will be OK.
