A member asked:

I had a tee - mitral valve is mildly thickened with mild regurgitation. tricuspid valve - no thickening but mild regurgitation. is this always progressive and the regurgitation will increase?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Have you had rheumatic fever or a significant heart murmur during childhood?, If you're not experiencing cardiac arrhythmias or having shortness of breath with exertion, your mitral valve thickening and regurgitation or tricuspid regurgitation are not serious but you still should have periodic cardiology follow-up to detect any progressive scarring of the valve&worse regurgitation. Keep BP normal
