Not in airway: Chances r it was NOT in ur airway, as u were able to drink water & talk to the doctor. A long object like a leek / onion has little chance of getting past the vocal cords (more likely got stuck in the esophagus). If it did get past the cords, chances r u wd have gagged, coughed, or "Heimlich"-ed it out; ur bronchi would have spasms; & u wd have developed pneumonitis (similar symptoms to pneumonia)
