Insomnia: First try to identify causes and get sleep routine. No alcohol at all, No caffeine 8-6 hours before bed, no food or drink 2 hours before bed ,turn off all electrical equipment , quiet dark room, stay in bed.Warm milk 2 hours before bed. Besides melatonin can try valarian 200-400 mg 2 hours before bed. Check for sleep apnea. f/u with urgent care doctor.,

Get checked out: Taking something to help you sleep is never the answer in the long term. You may have nailed it as it may very well be related to stress. Stress management and relaxation would be the way to go. But get a good physical evaluation to make sure you do not have any other problems
