No. Cancer unlikely: see an endocrinologist who specializes in diseases of the thyroid. Hashimotos is an autoimmune disease where your own immune system attacks your thyroid. You need to have your thyroid hormone checked and a thyroid ultrasound. What you may be feeling could be from acute thyroiditis or a thyroid nodule. While most thyroid nodules are benign, it needs to be watched closely in younger patients.
