Spicule / bone: It is either the edge of bone where the tooth was removed or a loose splinter (spicule) of bone which will work its way out. If the edge does not round off or the healing bone does not fill in and reduce the feel of the bump, the surgeon can easily go in and round it off for you. Give it some time . Go back to Oral Surgeon to check it if it does not resolve. Good Luck.

Very common: Without seeing it, it sounds like the normal healing process. If you are concerned have the dentist or surgeon check it out.
