Just had a tooth extraction.the tooth lost its bone due to gum disease.will the bone grow again after the tooth was extracted? heard the bone will grow again after 6-8 weeks?is this info correct?how many weeks for the gum to heal after the surgery?

Healing: Each case is different regarding healing of an extraction socket and bone filling in. Some bone will fill in but the amount depends upon too many factors to be able to answer fully in this forum. Initial gum healing usually occurs in 7-14 days and bone maturation of the healing socket may take up to 3-4 months. The dentist who is treating you would be the best one to discuss healing & treatment
