See below: In US, ceftriaxone, cefotaxime or azithromycin will be a good alternative. For a fully susceptible strain, amoxicillin or trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole will be a choice. Fluoroquinolones are indicated in children affected by multiple drug resistant tyPhoid fever.

Sensitivity: there shoukd be a sensivity profile for the bacteria that caused the illness, this can direct what antibiotics will work. Not all cases of Salmonella require antibiotic treatment, check with your doctor to be sure
