Very vague: You sound knowledgable; I'm pleased you had the recommended colonoscopy to screen for colorectal cancer. Presume "twinges" mean recurring brief pain. You're right...it could be gas or irritable bowel syndrome. The key is progression: if the twinges become more frequent or intense, further testing including ultrasound or CT imaging and potential lab work can help diagnose. Try more fiber and water.
