Same day results: This is a reference level test in the us. That means most hospital labs do not perform the test. Your blood is drawn, shipped to a large university center, and then the test is resulted. The actual time of the lab running the test and getting the results is about 8 hours, but you have to factor in transit time of the specimen to the lab. Three weeks does seem a little bit long even for that.
