A member asked:

Hello doctor, please what does it mean to have a normal hb 14.5 but mcv 68 and platelet of 127000. other values are normal. thank you?

Small red cells: You may have a minor thalassemia variant. Just watch the platelets; they're a bit low. If all the formed elements on the smear were normal, I'd just follow up in perhaps six months, or less in the unlikely event that you notice a bleeding tendency.
