Small red cells: You may have a minor thalassemia variant. Just watch the platelets; they're a bit low. If all the formed elements on the smear were normal, I'd just follow up in perhaps six months, or less in the unlikely event that you notice a bleeding tendency.

Spoke with doctor today regarding my blood results. She said she will refer me to heamotology. She said my platelets are higher again at 535. Haemoglobin low at 105. Iron borderline low. Mcv low. Platelets been high for 1 year. What could be wrong?

What does it mean RDW for SRS 14.9% (11.5-14.5), platelet 428 (140-400), RBC 5.01 (3.8-5.2), MCV 84 (80-100). These results fell out of normal range.
